We had read in Active Captain about midge hatchings in this area. We looked at each other and asked What's a midge?..anyway, the hatchings were in August and October so we hoped November cold would have put them to sleep. We were right.
The entry into our anchorage yesterday was a little tricky due to shallow water. We draw 6'3" and had 6' 5" beneath us. ( 0 tide here but that's too close. Ernie got the trusty lead line out and gave the thumbs up with 7 1/2 ft below us . Good enough.

The waterway is glass calm Sunday morning, so far.
One more thing, UVM hockey Cats won both games this weekend against Maine. Bravo!
