Buck Island Saturday night

The northern side of Buck Island, ICW, NoCarolina turned out to be very serene and just beautiful.

We had read in Active Captain about midge hatchings in this area. We looked at each other and asked  What's a midge?..anyway, the hatchings were in August and October so we hoped November cold would have put them to sleep. We were right.

The entry into our anchorage yesterday was a little tricky due to shallow water. We draw 6'3" and had 6' 5" beneath us. ( 0 tide here but that's too close. Ernie got the trusty lead line out and gave the thumbs up with 7 1/2 ft below us . Good enough.
For the non- boaters, this is a lead line (with a weight but no lead):

The waterway is glass calm Sunday morning, so far.

One more thing, UVM hockey Cats won both games this weekend against Maine. Bravo!
