Some basics like water fill and pump out, loose wires secured to the mast, and final mast secure lines so we don't lose it. Followed a good tip from Bob Gurwitz on tie downs - thanks Bob! Seeing Jeff and Dorothy Hill on the dock was momentous. Jeff was instrumental in our journey.. Without him, would we be so lucky as to have found Iemanja? Thank you Jeff, thanks for helping us find the boat of our dreams. And then there was Ernie's big find -- a hole in the heat exhast line. We had so hoped to have heat. Out the hose came! New hose in Catskills if we order Monday a.m. That would have been dangerous - so thank you Ernie! And a thank- you goes to Steve Adams for his structural advice which we implemented earlier on. While we're on a thanking binge- thanks go to Jonathan Couture and Bruce Schwabb, and Rachel Miller who played big roles in our growing love for sailboat travels and the ocean.
We followed the footsteps of Len and Lynnea by high- tailing it down to Kingsland Bay our first night. Weather was light breeze on Sunday so we really wanted to get moving. Breeze would build from Monday morning with more breeze later in the day. And so we left LCYC dock. And had a beautiful ride down to Kingsland.
