Ozzie gets a little help from Harriett

On our ride over from Great Harbor Cay in the Berry Islands to Lynyard Cay in the Abacos this past May, we set up Harriett, our Monitor windvane to give Ozzie the auto pilot a rest. Things worked out very well in what turned out to be perfect conditions for Harriett. Two cool things about this passage.....the first was that our water maker was making water during the run and being powered by our 300 watts of solar panel (Solbian) and the second being that Harriett was using the power of wind to drive the boat.....net gain was lots of stuff going on and no power being depleted from our 510 amp hour battery bank! We actually had a positive battery gain during the run.

Erika falls apart but....

I went ahead at the last ditch time to get a reasonably priced flight and booked. A day and a half later erika is history. You know  what they say "if your thinking about reefing its time to reef". So no regrets. Ill use the time here to get a nice jump on a few projects that we have lined up prior to departure back to the bahamas. Nice to be on our girl once again.
