Good morning from sunny SC

Yes.......that's ice!!!!

Foggy morning 02/21/15

Love that foggy scene. All's quiet.

ICW around Little River 02/22/15

This is such a peaceful scene here at Coquina Harbor, SC, on the ICW. That's Light Keepers light in the background and the ICW to the right. Very pretty.

Snow pellets

Well, this is cool! I could hear the little snow pellets hitting the deck this morning while lying in bed. I really really wanted to stay under the blankets.

Sun followers

Cats are sun followers. Some will follow the sun all over their homes for places to nap in the warmth. I tried an experiment on our crewcat Minnie to see if she'd choose comfort or sun. Donut was placed on top of multi-height books - not comfortable. But the spot was in the sun... The sun won. That's where she stayed.

Toe Rail re-do

Nothing like peeling varnish on your toe rail. Considering there's 7 or 8 coats of varnish
on it and the deck eyebrow, the surface really didn't last. Stripping varnish with heat gun and scraper, washing and scrubbing the teak, then changing it up this time with a teak oil/sealer instead of varnish. I know this won't last either but I'm hoping the re-do will be easier next time.

Mornings at Light Keepers Marina

February 11, 2015
It's really lovely here in the mornings at Light Keepers Marina. I'm really glad to be here.

Beach walking

You know you're walking the beach in February when the cold has driven everyone else away. (Cherry Grove Beach).

2 different worlds......

So I've been up here for the past week wrapping up moving Aubrey into her new space so she can captain the ClothnCanvas ship from here on forward while Bette and Minnie have stayed on Iemanja. Aubrey is still in the same location in Mallets Bay but she is now in the front part of the building which makes much better sense for her.
This morning I awoke to -10F and light to moderate winds from the north.
It's all relative though.....-10 to me up here to me where it's suppose to be winter is likely to feel the same as 21F to Bette down in SC where it's not suppose to be that cold.....I'm glad she has that Espar heater!

A must for living aboard

So I've seen the quizacle looks when I talk about our boat heater. Well.....I can tell you now with certainty that if you want to live comfortable aboard, no matter which direction your travels take you......you need a heater of some kind to make life civilized. We have an Espar Deisel heater that is located under the cockpit and forces warm air through a simple 4" duct system into the main cabin at 2 entry points. With the push of a button the living area aboard Iemanja is transformed from cool and damp to warm and dry. Without such a amenity, we'd be constantly looking for ways to get off the boat to get warm rather than being warm and cozy. It could be Deisel, which uses less then a liter in a 24 hour period, Deisel space heater, wood stove or propane. Whatever the choice it's worth the effort to install......

We love them both.

This is VT.

This here.

We love them both!

Early morning at T dock, Light Keepers Marina, SC

Feels so good to be back on board. Needless to say we slept like rocks last night. T dock is now home for February.

I'm excited just thinking about all the new canvas that we (and Aubrey) put together  in VT the last 2 months.  Can't wait to see it all installed.

The boat, she looks great! and clean.
What a beautiful day.

Go Seattle!
